Today in our field studies class we discussed our upcoming Madrid and Toledo travel this weekend and went to another art museum. This particular art museum is dedicated to unfamiliar and budding artists from around Barcelona and Catalonia. The museum held some interesting artwork…as usual some of it was far too abstract for my taste, while other pieces were very captivating. The museum ended up being very large and it held a great amount of artwork; from the outside it looks like it holds a very modest collection! We had to place our backpacks at the check in desk when we first arrived and when we were leaving I had an “awkward” encounter with the receptionist; I had to ask to get my book bag back, so I pointed and said “mochilla naranja” but the moment I said it I made a confused look on my face. I was not sure if that would translate properly; mochilla is backpack and naranja means orange (the fruit). So I was scared that I had just said “bag of oranges”? The receptionist giggled and handed me my book bag…much to my relief, I guess she knew what I was talking about and noticed my reservation! Had burritos tonight for dinner, tasted good to have a change from pasta for once. I cannot wait for Madrid and Toledo this weekend!
Happy Valentine’s Day or National Singles Awareness day, whichever one you prefer!
