RyanAir....Rome pt 1

Landed safely in Rome tonight...thank the lord for that one! No really let me explain...

RyanAir is the conveniently priced airline that we used to book our flight here to Rome, and there are a few reasons why their prices are so affordable.
  1. All departures are from the old terminal in Barcelona, this terminal is much darker, duller, and older than the new terminal...which boasts very good architecture.
  2. The plane is essentially an Airbus (I think it was a Boeing), there are no first class seats and everyone just picks a seat once onboard the plane...that was an interesting experience
  3. Just like the departures, all arrivals are at the older more "out casted" airports of each city...therefore certain services are not recieved. We walked out of the airplane straight onto the tar mat and then into the baggage claim area
  4. I'm not sure if the pilots are trained as well as with other airlines, for example: In midflight tonight I am positive that the plane dropped about 100 feet instantly while we were descending; everyone on board felt their stomach's drop and the entire plane let out a scream of anxiety...it was very nerve-racking. I am by no means an experienced plane traveler, however I am positive that the plane is not supposed to "bounce" when we land on the runway...this too was very scary. After the plane came to a COMPLETE stop everyone on board erupted in a thunderous applause (more of a relief for me).
There was a constant drizzle all night and outside was very cold...when I wake up in the morning it might be snowing! For dinner we went to the first restaurant we spotted...which was a huge mistake! I believe that we were slightly ripped off, the meal was way too expensive and the food was alright (it was leftovers). Regardless I had my first dish of spaghetti in Rome! Hopefully my meals tomorrow will be much better, and less expensive...I am in ROME!!! What am I going to do tomorrow you ask? Well when in Rome.....

But remember the life style of the almighty USA comes at a price...so enjoy your stay in Rome and if you get a chance I would love to see some pictures of their great architecture (as if i have to actually requested that lol) be easy and continue to learn.

  2. You are right...the plane is not supposed to bounce when it hits the runway. The pilot was either sleeping or had too much wine while the plane was on auto-pilot. Either way, glad that came out ok. You'll have to remember some of those recipes you have at your studio so you whip them up for "unc."
