When life hands you lemons....

Went running this morning and when I got to the beach there were people actually in the water surfing and playing around. Normally this sight would not have been so perplexing, but after putting everything into context I was oh so confused; it was a nice 40 degrees outside and the people in the water did not have on wetsuits. How could they possibly be comfortable in that water…it looked, smelled, and screamed cold!
That  was the most excitement I experienced today unfortunately…the rest of the afternoon was very drab and I felt a little “down in the dumps”. I think it was a combination of things: the Internet was going in and out again, I was not traveling this weekend (I have not been in Barcelona for the past two weekends) so it felt kind of weird, plus some people were going skiing in Andorra. I also paid way too much for some batteries which I needed, and I was reliving my bad studio review from yesterday while simultaneously realizing the amount of work I have to do before Monday. I did have churros for the first time since I have been here…they were pretty good.  There was one little “ray of sunshine” towards the end of the day. While preparing dinner I noticed two pairs of lemons shoved in the back of my refrigerator and I wondered what I could use them for…LEMONADE! So that’s what I did, I successfully made lemonade with two lemons…it was actually very refreshing. The process became a ceremony for me since the rest of my day had been so dull, I don’t think I have ever taken so much care and precision in making food!
Kind of pathetic how much that cheered me up and made my day…but sometimes it truly is the simple things in life that mean and do the most! Also I need to remember my own advice all the way from week one lesson number 10: “Sometimes I can get a little stressed out…but then I remember I AM IN EUROPE! How cool is that?!?!?!”
Sorry for my uneventful day…haha
