La ultima Sabado! (The last Saturday)

Today was my last Saturday in Barcelona, and I thoroughly enjoyed my day "sanssouci". Sanssouci was the castle that I had to research for our trip to Germany last month...it was French for "without concerns".

I had a great run this morning, the beach is finally starting to look like the "hotspot" it should be. Everyone was at the beach this morning, tourists and locals alike! At the beach even more vendors had appeared and were anxious to "pounce" on the tourists, there is also a new fair for children at the beach. I felt like a "local" today when I went walking around the city...I was avoiding the "touristy" roads like "La Rambla" and I wasn't walking around gazing up at the buildings. I went to go buy something from one of the stores and  the employee tried to put me into a tourist scam; he quickly changed his pace when I started to respond in Spanish while calling him out on the insanity of his prices! It seems just as I am starting to settle in here it is time to go. The city was alive today, the tourists have arrived for the summer and today was  the start of mine!
